Filmonik is only the newest branch of the worldwide Kino movement, which originated in Canada over five years ago. Montreal's Kino00, being our Mothergroup, has website and contact details of other Kino groups around the world. The website is in French, but has an English section which explains how the movement came about.

Monatronic
Filmonik has linked with Manchester-based electronic music label Monatronic to provide short films for their monthly live music nights. "Monatronic was established in 2004 to provide a platform for the exposure of electronic music from digital disco to the experimentation in left of centre and acoustic sounds. Monatronic's aim is to release quality music and promote and support events to expose the artists behind the personal computer."
